Dispersions:

900 blk bwf (400 hd) rd angus-x (250 hd), char-x (125 hd), brindle & rd-x (75 hd), and hereford (50 hd)(4 & 5 yr olds (approx. 400hd); balance 6-10 yrs in equal age groups) bred red and black composite; cf 4-5 for 50 days. Strict culling each year involves selection for mothering ability/milk, udder quality, longevity, and fertility. Opens are sold each year, meaning every cow raises a calf. Cows are moderated framed, hone raised, fertile and will be sorted in colot & age groups.

Dispersion

A Thousand Hills Ranch/Rex & Carl Simmons

The families of Rex & Carl Simmons have decided to sell every home raised cow 4 years of age and older. All females selling are production tested annually. Production measures involved from first calf heifers to olser cows are disposition, soundness (structure), mothering ability/milk, udder quality, longevity, and fertility. Bull selection  involves performance and breed soundness for udder quality and milk. Approximately 400 head are 4 & 5 yrs; balance will be of almost equal age froups from 6 yrs to 10 yrs. Every cow selling has been a productive individual or was culled. The herd colors include approximately; 400 blk, bwf, 250 rd angus-x, 150 char-x, 100 brindle and rd-x, and 50 hereford. Annually vaccinated and poured. Calving April 5 for 50 days to red and black composite bulls. 95% are home raised.
